Tennessee Titans @ Buffalo Bills – Sunday October 21, 2012 1:00PM EST
The Buffalo Bills took advantage of Arizona Cardinals mistakes and exploited a weak Cardinals’ run defense to get its third win of the season. The betting sites cannot remember the last time that an entire division was 3-3, but that is the case in the AFC East. The AFC East is still up for grabs with even the New England Patriots struggling to win games, and that opens a door for a Buffalo team that looked like it was getting ready to mail in the rest of the season. The Buffalo defense has come back to life and the team is hoping to be able to contain the Tennessee offense and walk away with the win in week seven.
The Tennessee Titans are unsure if quarterback Jake Locker will be able to return in this game of it will be one more week with veteran Matt Hasselbeck under center. One thing that the football betting sites can agree on is that the problems the Titans are experiencing are not at quarterback. Running back Chris Johnson is only averaging 3.3 yards per carry and top wide receiver Nate Washington is averaging just over 50 receiving yards per game. With a defense that is ranked 28th, it is easy to see why everyone in Tennessee knows that the team’s problems are located everywhere but at the quarterback position.
Buffalo Bills
While the Bills were winning a wild and wooly game over the Arizona Cardinals with a combination of bad officiating and inconsistent field goal kicking by Arizona’s Jay Feely, the online casino players failed to give the Buffalo defense the credit is due. While Buffalo quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick struggled to hit wide-open receivers, the Buffalo defense held the Arizona offense to only 16 points and managed to knock Arizona quarterback Kevin Kolb out of the game with a clean hit. With Buffalo running backs Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller acting as one of the best running tandems in football, this Buffalo team could be tough to beat.
Tennessee Titans
The Titans caught a lot of breaks in its win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in week six. Most of the breaks came in the form of mistakes by the Steelers and bad calls by the officials. But Tennessee’s defense was still exploited by Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for 363 passing yards. If Tennessee gives Ryan Fitzpatrick that kind of room, Fitzpatrick is bound to start hitting receivers. The bet online experts wonder if the Titans really gained any momentum from that Pittsburgh win to take along with the team to Buffalo.
The Bottom Line
If the Bills’ defense continues to improve, then Buffalo can start to take command of the AFC East. This could be a good game for Ryan Fitzpatrick to work on the accuracy problems he has been having as the Titans have a terrible pass defense that won’t offer much resistance.
My Pick: Buffalo Bills
