If you ask anyone with an online sportsbook, they will tell you that NFL football is a fantastic sport to bet on. Football betting can be lazy- you only have to pay attention on one day a week, sometimes, and all the games happen at once. You get all the stress over with, in a few short hours. A problem does present itself, however, when it comes to betting on football. As you approach your online bookie, it can be increasingly difficult to choose which games to bet on.
All of the teams play at once! Some strong teams and playing, some weak, but how does one choose? Well, that’s what I’m here for. Each week I keep my eye on a few games that interest me. I look for games with some fanfare, as they will be exciting to watch, but also games with clear betting lines and the opportunity to make some money. So here we go, get to your betting websites and let’s get started.
Miami Dolphins at New York Jets, 1:00 PM EST, Sunday, October 28th
It was a slow week for both of these teams- The Jets played in a division rivalry game against the Patriots, losing 29-26 in overtime, while the ‘Fins had the week off. So, for fans in Miami and New York, this has been a pretty uneventful and unexciting week, apart from the glimmer of hope that Jets fans held during OT. These two teams are filling in the middle of the AFC East pack right now, and each hope to overtake the division lead, or set themselves up for a wildcard birth. This game will be a close one, and one based on a battle between experience and youth. Jet’s experienced starters like Mark Sanchez and Shone Greene will try to overtake the spry energy of QB Ryan Tannehill, Reggie Bush and long-catch wideout Davone Bess. This will certainly be an interesting rival game, and will determine much about the layout of the AFC East for the rest of the season. Dolphins lead the Jets in almost every major category. I think they have a good shot.
My Pick: The Miami Dolphins
