Betway Refunds player but avoids Discussion with SBR

We had reported on a dispute going on between Betway and one unhappy customer of theirs. According to the player, his sportsbook decided to run a special prop wager that stated that if Chelsea striker Drogba scored a goal then every losing prop bet on first and last goal-scorer markets would be refunded. It also considered refunding correct score bets. This dispute happened during the Champions League final.

It took the customers´ insistence and some pressure from SportsBookReview for Betway to credit his account. Betway never discussed the dispute with the payment dispute specialist from SBR as they were not willing to give any details on why things turned out the way they did.

Betway has applied an unusual and highly unfair rule that basically lets them steal money from their players. Up till today, it is recorded that Betway has confiscated £6,514.50 from their players´ profits. The rule states that bettors that wager more than 30% of their starting bonus amount will have to give up their balance minus the deposit.

Betway explains the rule to players in the following statement: "Before any withdrawals are processed, your play will be reviewed for any irregular playing patterns. In the interests of fair gaming, equal, zero or low margin bets or hedge betting, shall all be considered irregular gaming for bonus play-through requirement purposes. Other examples of irregular game play include but are not limited to, placing single bets equal to or in excess of 30% or more of the value of the bonus credited to their account until such time as the wagering requirements for that bonus have been met. Should the Casino deem that irregular game play has occurred, the Casino reserves the right to withhold any withdrawals and/or confiscate all winnings."

It because of sportsbooks like Betway that SporBookReview encourages all players to take their claims and disputes up to the LGA of Malta. However, their service for complain reception is always open to players from all companies.
