Buffalo Bills @ Houston Texans – November 4, 2012 1:00PM EST
To say that things do not get better for the Buffalo Bills immediately after the team returns from its bye week would be the understatement of the century. The online sports book experts watched as the Bills lost a heartbreaking home game to the Tennessee Titans as the team was ready to head into its bye week. But the news just gets worse for the Bills as Buffalo must travel to Houston to face the Texans in week nine. It will be a homecoming of sorts for former Texans’ linebacker Mario Williams, but it will not be the tearful reunion that most people may be expecting.
The sports betting online experts have noted that the Texans are also coming off of a week eight bye, but the Texans actually earned a week off where the Bills did not. The Texans are far and away the best team in the AFC at 6-1, and should be considered as one of the best teams in the league. Despite losing Williams in the offseason and linebacker Brian Cushing to injury earlier in the season, the Texans still possess one of the most potent defenses in all of football and it intends to unleash that defense on a Buffalo Bills offense that is having problems getting out of its own way.
Buffalo Bills
The online bookie crowd knows that the Bills’ offense revolves around running backs Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller. The problem is that both Buffalo running backs are playing hurt and the offense simply cannot rely on quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to shoulder the load of offense. The Buffalo defense is not going to be able to contain the Houston offense, but Buffalo should not feel too bad about that. With a balanced running and passing attack, the Texans are hard for any team to contain. Expect the Bills to give up a lot of yards on the ground in this game and struggle with containing running backs Ben Tate and Arian Foster.
Houston Texans
If the Texans were the kind of team that took an opponent lightly, then this would be a game that Houston fans should be concerned about. But a sportsbook review of the Texans under head coach Gary Kubiak shows that the Texans take nothing for granted and work for every win the team gets. The Texans will keep the pedal down on the Bills until this game is well out of reach for Buffalo. The Bills desperately need this win, but desperation is not going to be enough.
The Bottom Line
The Bills were supposed to be able to compete with teams like the Texans, but that was just preseason conjecture. The reality is that the Buffalo Bills still lack the basic talent needed to be a competitive team and this will be a really long day for the Bills and its fans.
My Pick: Houston Texans
